Why You Should Practice WAEC Past Questions

To practice is the act of rehearsing a behaviour over and over. It could also be defined as engaging in an activity again and again.
Practicing a craft, game, etc., is usually done for the purpose of gaining improvement or mastery in that field. Sports teams practice to prepare for actual games. Musicians practice before their actual shows, and more.

So, practicing more WAEC past questions is another factor that puts you on the pathway of achieving better grades on the WASSCE.

How practicing WAEC past questions can help you

The specific behaviour here is taking more timed WAEC practice tests (past questions) frequently.  Make sure you solve at least a WAEC past question everyday. After each timed test, grade yourself (be strict in doing this). Also try to decrease the total time required for each test by 10 minutes.

Practicing more WAEC past questions is a method of learning and of acquiring experience. It brings about acclimatization. Acclimatization,  in the sense that you longer reserve any fear towards the WAEC. It's just an exam that mainly tests you on what you've been taught in school. Practicing more WAEC past question could help you develop a strategy for the exam. For example:
Kofi has practiced all WAEC  past questions on the Elective Maths from year 2000 to year 2012. He noticed that he normally gets all correlation questions correct. He then decides  that he must surely answer all correlation  questions on the main test day.

Things to Note When Practicing WAEC Past Questions

If practicing from a "past question and answer book." Meet your teacher for confirmation when you doubt.
Do  not solve the same past question over-and-over again within the same time period.  Once you've marked yourself and corrected your wrongs—move to a different set of questions or exams. You could come back later to practice that past question again. Move on to answer other past questions; cover as much as you can.

Practice in groups. You could have your friend grade your work, while you grade his or hers.
Pay cognizance to new tricky or difficult topics or questions that appear on any WAEC past question paper.
